1. The variant sets from root zone LGR were reviewed. The group agreed that these be inherited to the second level template. Each language LGR will then use the relevant subset.
Why ? what about the work we done from our last F2F meeting and the rules we agreed on?
2. The variant sets from root zone LGR are limited to the repertoire finalized for the root zone. As additional code points are possible for inclusion at second level, based on IDNA2008, these variant sets need to be reviewed and expanded accordingly. E.g. proposals to add to the Alif and Gaf variant sets were discussed. ڤ and ڨ to be added in the latter Gaf variant set due to ڨ use in Tunis (and shape similarity of ڤ).
Added as similarity or variant?

Dear All,
Here is a summary of the discussions during the call.
1. The variant sets from root zone LGR were reviewed. The group agreed that these be inherited to the second level template. Each language LGR will then use the relevant subset.
3. The text to call others to contribute language based data has been finalized. This may now be used to reach out.
4. Further review and feedback has been requested for the UASG004 document by all the members. The examples for domain names to be added in the tables and then next steps to be discussed next time.
Those on the call, please feel free to add any other details missed here. There seemed to be issues with call quality which made it difficult to communicate sometimes.
Regards,
Sarmad

Dear All,
For the first agenda in this list, please note that in our second level LGR document has the following principles:
i. For each language, variant analysis should be extended to include variant analysis across Arabic script.
ii. For reachability reasons by users with different user communities, for the languages for which the LGRs for second level have been developed, variants which are labels for these languages should be allowed and recommended with “activated”[1] disposition. This should be done by defining relevant code point variant types as “activated” and then managing the relevant labels through relevant WLE rules.
We have identified the attached list of script based variants for Arabic (from root zone LGR). We need to discuss which of these (all?) should be included at second level per principle i. above and of these which should be activated, per ii. above.
Regards,
Sarmad
